Residential Painting Built Around How You Live

Hiring residential painters is less about paint and more about trust. You’re letting a crew into the rooms your family uses every day, so you need that crew to be organized, respectful, and accountable. Peacock Painting runs each job like a managed project, with a clear schedule, a single point of contact, and daily updates so you always know what’s happening in your home.

Most of our clients are busy homeowners who don’t have time to chase a painter for answers. You get a written plan before we start, a crew lead on-site every day, and a finished result we stand behind for two full years, whether you need one tired room refreshed or every surface in the house recoated.

Interior Residential Painting Done Cleanly

Interior Residential Painting Done Cleanly

Interior work lives or dies on the details no one consciously notices: the crisp line where wall meets ceiling, smooth trim with no brush drag, and a workspace that’s clean at five o’clock. Our crews handle every interior surface in the home:

  • Walls and accent walls
  • Ceilings, including textured and popcorn
  • Trim, baseboards, and casings
  • Interior and closet doors
  • Stairways and railings
  • Built-ins and cabinetry
  • Living spaces and bedrooms
  • Kitchens and bathrooms

Kitchens and baths get washable, moisture-resistant finishes; bedrooms and living spaces get softer sheens that feel calm under evening light. Before any paint goes on, furniture is moved and wrapped, floors get non-slip coverings, and fixtures are masked. We clean as we go, so the only change you notice at day’s end is fresh color.

Outside your home

Exterior Residential Painting That Lasts

Exterior Residential Painting That Lasts

Exterior paint in Western Washington works harder than almost anywhere else. Rain, damp winters, and sudden summer sun push coatings to fail early when prep is rushed, so we slow down where it matters.

Our exterior residential painting covers:

  • Siding of every common material
  • Trim, fascia, and soffits
  • Front doors and garage doors
  • Architectural accents and details
  • Window trim and shutters
  • Porches and outdoor wood surfaces

Every exterior project starts with a wash and honest prep. Soft trim and damaged boards get repaired, peeling areas get scraped and sanded, and bare wood gets primed before we apply two full coats around real weather windows so the paint cures properly. The result is weather protection you don’t have to think about again for years.

How a project runs

The Residential PaintingProcess, Step by Step

1
Initial Consultation

Initial Consultation

We start with a conversation about what you want, your timeline, and any concerns. This is where we learn how you use your home so we can plan around it.

2
On-Site Evaluation

On-Site Evaluation

An estimator walks the home, measures each area, and inspects the condition of every surface so nothing gets missed once work begins.

3
Detailed Proposal

Detailed Proposal

You receive a clear written quote that breaks down scope, prep, products, and timeline. No vague line items, no surprise charges later.

4
Color Consultation

Color Consultation

Our color guidance helps you lock in a palette with confidence, accounting for your lighting, finishes, and furniture before a drop of paint is ordered.

5
Surface Preparation

Surface Preparation

We fill, patch, sand, caulk, and prime. This is the stage that decides how a paint job looks in a year, and the one most crews rush.

6
Painting Application

Painting Application

Two full coats of premium paint applied with the right tool for each surface, brushed lines, rolled walls, and sprayed trim where it makes sense.

7
Quality Inspection

Quality Inspection

The crew lead checks every surface under bright light for coverage, clean edges, and missed spots before we ever call the work finished.

8
Final Walkthrough

We walk the project with you, room by room or surface by surface, and handle any touch-ups on the spot until you’re satisfied.

Residential Paint Finish Guide

The same color can look completely different depending on the finish. Here’s where each one works best in a home.

  • Flat Paint: Zero shine and the best at hiding wall imperfections. Great for ceilings and low-traffic walls, but it’s the hardest to wipe clean.
  • Matte Finish: Soft, modern, and elegant with a touch more durability than flat. A favorite for adult bedrooms and formal living rooms.
  • Eggshell: A slight glow with enough washability for everyday living spaces. The most popular all-around choice for living rooms and hallways.
  • Satin: Noticeably more durable and scrubbable. Ideal for kitchens, kids’ rooms, and high-traffic areas that get touched and cleaned often.
  • Semi-Gloss: Sheds moisture and wipes clean easily, which makes it the standard for trim, doors, and bathrooms.
  • Gloss: The most reflective and toughest finish. Reserved for accent doors, cabinetry, and details meant to stand out and take abuse.

Not only were they on time and on budget, but the quality of their work is 1st class. We re-did every door, (14 of them), and the entire interior of the house. Detail oriented, willing to go above and beyond (they helped me re-hang my pictures), and we’re always professional and courteous. If I could give 6 stars, I would.
We recently hired Peacock Painting to paint the exterior of our home, and the entire experience was fantastic. From the initial estimate to the final walkthrough, their team was professional, responsive, and easy to work with. The project was completed on schedule, and the quality of the workmanship was excellent. Our house looks better than we imagined, and we’ve already received compliments from neighbors. If you’re looking for a reliable painting company that delivers great results, I would definitely recommend John’s team.

We recently hired Peacock Painting for our house exterior painting and had a great experience. From the beginning, the team was easy to work with, showed up on time, and explained the whole process. They did a thorough pressure wash and prep before starting, which made us feel confident the paint would last.

The exterior paint job turned out beautiful. The siding and trim look clean and even, and the house honestly looks brand new. They also helped us confirm the right exterior paint colors and made sure everything was protected during the project.

The crew kept the area tidy and finished the work when they said they would. If you’re looking for a dependable painting contractor for exterior house painting, siding painting, or repainting your home exterior, Peacock Painting did a really solid job for us.

So happy with Peacock!! Bought my house with all the interior walls being cedar planks with decades of staining and pets marking territory. Johnny and his team covered every inch of my house so thoroughly protecting my belongings. They layered the entire house with oil primer and let it dry before painting. I was very impressed with their knowledge and recognized exactly what needed to be done and how. Everywhere I tried to paint the yellow would surface and look horrible. Everywhere peacock painted, stayed the exact color it was supposed to with such precision and cleanliness! Will use for all my projects in the future!

These guys are consummate professionals. They work extremely hard with meticulous attention to detail. They bring a wealth of knowledge, skills and capabilities to the job. We had them lime wash all of our bathrooms and a large den. They also installed a wallpaper mural and wallpapered the kitchen and a bedroom.  Finally, they replaced and raised ceilings in three rooms. All of this work made an enormous impact to improving our home. These guys are true artists: their lime wash installations are exceptional works of art. Not only are they talented but they are kind, considerate, and lovely people to work with. We can’t say enough good things about them and feel fortunate to have found them.  A+++++++

Frequently Asked Questions – Residential Painting

Cost depends on project size, surface condition, paint grade, and finish. A single room runs far less than a whole-home repaint, and exterior work varies with prep and wood repair needs. The most accurate way to know is a free on-site estimate, where we measure everything and give you a clear written quote with no surprise line items.

A single room is often one to two days. A full interior repaint usually takes five to eight working days, and a full exterior depends on size, prep, and weather. We give you a realistic timeline in your proposal and keep you updated daily so you’re never guessing.

Almost never. We specialize in occupied-home painting and sequence the work so you keep a usable kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom throughout. We use low-VOC and zero-VOC paints on request, which makes staying home comfortable even with kids, pets, or allergies in the house.

It depends on the room. Flat and matte hide imperfections and suit ceilings and bedrooms. Eggshell and satin handle living rooms, hallways, and kitchens. Semi-gloss and gloss wipe clean, so they’re ideal for trim, doors, and bathrooms. Our finish guide above breaks down each option.

Yes. Color consultation is part of our process. We look at your lighting, existing finishes, and furniture, then help you narrow down a palette you’ll be happy with for years, not just on the swatch under store lighting.

Most interiors look fresh for five to ten years depending on traffic and finish, while Pacific Northwest exteriors usually need attention every seven to ten years. Catching wear early with scheduled maintenance is cheaper than waiting for paint to fail and damage the surface underneath.

Prep is where a paint job is won or lost. We fill nail holes, patch drywall, sand rough areas, caulk gaps, and prime bare or stained surfaces. On exteriors that includes pressure washing, wood repair, scraping, and sealing before any topcoat goes on.
